Sam and I received a hand-me-down swing for Charli, and we used it all the time, because infant swings are amazing and fabulous. It worked perfectly fine when Charli's legs were like little baby legs, but as she's gained like a million pounds in 2 months, her legs got pretty chunky. So, in turn whenever we tried to take her out of the old swing it had this sharp plastic edge that would scrape her legs whenever we took her out of it, and she would cry after being so calm in the swing! Also, it had this top over it so she would hit her head on the way out too! So, Sam and I finally realized: We need a new swing.
We trecked over to the NEWLY OPENED Babies R Us in Anchorage. Before I continue, let me just say what a GODsend this store is. It is amazing. They have everything you could possibly need for a new baby under one roof. I'm just slightly perturbed that this wonderful store was not open a few months earlier, it would have made my life so much easier. But I've had to come to terms with this already, and I'm working on getting passed it. As we walked down the aisles of Babies R Us, we came upon the swing section, and lo and behold, it was as if the sun was shining directly on this swing and we could see nor hear anything else. It's called the Graco SweetPeace. First of all, it plugs into the wall! Our winding days are finally over. It has a head rest, no more head flopping to one side! It has classical music built right in, and we can turn it on and Charli will fall right to sleep. It has six different swinging speeds, you can move the carrier so it swings her in all different directions....and I could go on and ON about this swing because it is amazing. But I'll spare you. I give this swing a ten, for sure. Thank you Graco, Charli (and Mommy and Daddy) love it!!
