HI

So its been about seven thousand years since the old blogarino was updated. I'm noticing a very specific trend here. But once every seven thousand years isn't that bad. We have been busy since you last heard from us. Catie and I have been working hard and we have scheduled our sealing in the Anchorage Alaska temple on Dec. 26th 2009, luckily the temple will actually be open that day!! It just happens to be our two year anniversary! I can't believe two years is almost gone, it went so fast! In other news, we went and got enrolled in our classes for the january semester today, thats right I said "WE"! As of january I will officially be a student again, don't know why I didn't do that earlier. Catie will be finishing her degree in december of 2010, exactly one year before I do. Otherwise just the same old life stuff going on for us, which i always feel is more fun to read through pictures, so here you go.

Teething

HEY!
Remember when I said that Charli had the easiest teething ever, HERE?

Well wasn't that just peachy.


Charli has been teething for the last few days, and it has been pretty very not fun.
She's very cranky, irritable, sad, very picky about her food, not really drinking very much, and has a high fever.

Poor little lady. :(
I wish this wave of teeth would hurry up and poke through...
we can already see them, and feel them!

P.S. They're the two to the left and right of her two front top teeth!

One Year Anniversary!!

Well, I missed the actual date, but as of August 19th I have been family blogging for one whole year!
Crazy, no?

This year has seen our family through some crazy times, to say the least.
We went from having a brand new baby in our home, to having a rampaging toddler destroying our home.
We moved from Alaska to Oregon, then from Oregon to Oklahoma a few months later.

So maybe I haven't been the most faithful blogger of all time, but I'll tell you that I was
SO THANKFUL
for this blog when our computer got stolen in Oregon, and we didn't have a backup copy of all of Charli's baby pictures.
I had posted quite a few of them on here (the cutest ones, obviously...) and on facebook, so I didn't lose them forever.

What I guess I mean is,
Dear Blog,
You mean so much to me. Thanks for sticking with our family through the good times and the rough times.
Even when I don't post on you, I still love you.

Aww! :)

Charli LOVES her teddy bear, which actually used to be Sam's when he was little. :)
She drags it around the living room, sleeps with it, and insists she have it whenever we get her up from bed or from a nap.
I love her. :)

Baeow is how she says Bear, it's so cute.

She actually has a fascination with balls lately, also. In fact, we were at Target yesterday, and you know how they have those big red balls outside the front doors?
Well when we were walking in and out, she wouldn't stop screaming "BALL! BALL! BALL! BALL!"
But then we got her out of the cart, and she wouldn't go up to them because they were too scary. haha.

She has also learned a new word..."Book".

BUT

she pronounces it "Butt". But we know it's book, because she only says it when she's reading one of her books.
Alas, my mature self can't help but giggle a little every time.

Charli was soooo cute on her birthday, we would ask her how old she was today, and she would hold up her one little finger!

Top Teeth!

Charli's two top front teeth poked through this morning!
That was the most painless (for us, probably not for her...:( ) teething ever.
She was still sleeping through the night, never got a fever, her nose is running a little bit but it's not something we can't handle!
We are very grateful for this relatively easy experience.

As of right now we don't have a picture, but we will get one as soon as we can!

We went to the park!

Sam's sister and brother in Law-Mark and Sara-were in town for Memorial Day weekend, and in the morning/afternoon we went to the park with them and their 2 daughters. Melissa and McKenna were playing on the playground with a bunch of other kids while Charli thought the big patch of dirt and rocks was clearly the superior place for entertainment. :)



Also, she thought the big mud patch in front of the stroller was awesome, too! :)

Daddy bought this hat for her on sale at Baby Gap...we think it is quite possibly the cutest thing we've ever seen?

She was only 9 months old when she took her first steps. CRAZY, NO?!!?!?
Every time I tell someone that they're like NO WAI.
Even Charli's pediatrician.
YAH.

I don't mean to sound braggy, I just would like you to understand what walking entails.

• Falling.... A LOT.


• Hitting her head, also a lot


• Pulling books off of the bookshelf


• Being able to get somewhere before we can stop her


• The coordination to be able to climb stairs

yeah. It's been fun.

Charli has made her way under the computer desk and is reaching through the crack between the desk and the keyboard tray trying to steal my mouse. And keyboard. hahaha. She's tooooo precious.

It's times like this that make me cherish Newborn Charli.

Does that mean it's time to have another baby!?

Charli has also started grinning SO CHEESILY every time we whip out the camera. It's TOO CUTE.
We did a mini photo shoot with her the other day for one of my assignments for school, and she was smiling for every single picture no joke. I'll have to post those pictures later.

Walking up a storm!

Yeah Charli is walking all over the place!
It's like, whenever she learns something, she learns it!
Anyway, I intended to have pictures of our new place up by now, but organizing and unpacking is taking longer than expected.
Like usual....

Back to the original topic...i get distracted easily...

Charli walked all the way across our tiny little living room yesterday!!! It's so frikin cute when she walks...it's like a little wobble. haha.

So this week is finals, so I'm going to be really super busy...my finals are fun though! I get to make a flash project with stick figures that tells a story. Ridiculously time consuming, but really fun! (It's really just a matter of finding the time...) and then I get to create and design a website. Yay! Super-fun. But yeah, I'm going to be really busy, so don't expect too many updates. Again, like usual.

So yeah, sorry about that.

Sam and I have been living with Sam's parents the last couple months, and we have finally got to the point where we are able to move out on our own! Isn't that exciting everyone!?

Well anyway, we got this super cute apartment for super cheap! YAY!
I'll obviously be posting pictures soon, but I don't really want to spoil the surprise until we have it all decorated! (and organized...)

I'm sure I'll be posting more that I can find the time (at our own apartment!) But seriously, I always say stuff like that, don't I?

Because she is a very independent woman, and she'll let us snuggle her for 1 minute, MAX, before she has to take care of some toy-playing biznis.

Unless I'm eating something, then she's all OVER that. haha.

Charli took her first steps on April 12th 2009! It was very unsure, and I don't even think she realized that she did it,
but she did it! and it was amazing.

I need to post a video of it, if I can ever capture it....it always seems so random when she does it. But I will seriously try!!!

Second Tooth!

Oh my....Charli has already gotten her second tooth!
It just poked through today.

Tooth Ahoy!

Quick Update,

So Charli has been pretty fussy the last couple days, and her gums looked pretty irritated. So yesterday, I put my finger in her mouth to feel her gums

AND....


HER FIRST TOOTH HAD POPPED THROUGH!

yay! I'm very happy...but it's kind of sad because that means it's not over...it's just the beginning. poo.

You can't see it with a camera quite yet, but as soon as I can get a picture, I'll post it! :D

Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial

I have an assignment for my Multimedia class, and the assignment is that I have to create a slideshow that takes you on a tour of somewhere. So, Sam came up with this wonderful idea to go to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial.
If you're not familiar with this tragic event in the course of American History, it was a bombing that occurred at the federal building in OKC on April 19th 1995 and it killed 168 Americans that day. Here's a picture of the building after the bomb was set off.




A plaque before we entered the memorial said,

We come here to remember

Those who were killed, those who survived, and those changed forever.

May all who leave here know the impact of violence.

May this memorial offer comfort, Strength, Peace, Hope, and Serenity.

So we went there, and it was an amazing experience. It was a very humble and serine place. It was extremely beautiful, and we went there on a beautiful day.
The sky was perfectly blue, not a cloud in the sky, and it was about 75 degrees.
I took all the pictures you're about to see, and tweaked some on photoshop. Hope you enjoy. Also, if you ever visit OKC, make sure you plan time to be able to see this amazing memorial.


A little explination of the memorial:
You are entering the area where the Alfred P. Murrah building once stood. The granite used on this pathway was salvaged from the Murrah Building. The Field of Empty Chairs is a tribute to the 168 Americans who were killed April 16th 1995. The nine rows represent the nine floors of the former Murrah building. Each person's chair is positioned in the row that corresponds to the floor on which they worked or were visiting. The five westernmost Empty Chairs honor those who were killed outside the Murrah Building.

9:03 - 1 minute after bombing.
The bombing took place at 9:02am. One archway into the memorial said 9:01 which represented the City's innocence, and one said 9:03 which represented the City's realization of what had just happened. While you're in the Memorial, you're inbetween the two archways, suspended at 9:02.

Wakey Baby

So ever since we left Alaska, Charli has not been sleeping through the night.
We seriously, seriously don't know what to do anymore! It's really frustrating. I think it's the fact that she doesn't have her own room anymore, and I'm not sure (because we're asleep) but I think when Sam and I move at night she wakes up. We have white noise going, but she just doesn't STAY asleep. She'll wake up, almost on cue, every two hours. She needs either me or Sam to rock her back to sleep...
and I must admit, usually im just TOO tired to deal with it so I just bring her into our bed and let her sleep with us, because she STAYS asleep!! (I KNOW it's a "big no no" but Im stumped) So we actually get to sleep without waking up!! I don't know what to doooo! Please, some advice would be great...or something. I dont know.
*sigh*

So, Charli has started pulling herself up everywhere! In the living room on the hearth, in her crib, on the dog's back...everywhere! It's so crazy how quickly she learned. It took her about two days to learn and completely master this new trick.



This was actually the VERY first time she pulled herself up on her own. Im really glad we got it on camera! :D

So yesterday Charli decided to take a journey into the kitchen...



I was laughing so hard! It was hilarious. She was after one of her toys that she dropped under the table one day at dinner.
She is just getting so adventurous, and it's so fun watching her personality emerge! She's growing so quickly, it's crazy...it's amazing. We love her so much, and we are so blessed to have her in our lives :)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It's been a really really really long time. I feel awful about not updating this! Oh man! Everyone is officially allowed to shun me. (but not for too long, please)

This month has been so crazy.
First of all, Sam got a job! YAY! It's just a for now kind of thing, but in this economy it's something to be proud of!

Second of all, I started school at Rose State College here in Oklahoma city. I'm studying Web Design, and this semester is going to be busy and hectic for me, so I know you all are going to miss my constant blogging. (lol) But seriously, I won't be able to post as much. But NEVER EVER again will it EVER be ONE WHOLE MONTH before I update it again! I swear! Man.

Third of all, CHARLI IS CRAWLING!?!?!?!?
I think all of you with crawling babies can RELATE.

Fourth of all, Charli is almost SEVEN MONTHS OLD?!?!?
Where the crap are all those months coming from?

This last picture here is funny, because I was letting her play in the living room while I was doing a bit of homework or something or other on the computer, when Margie (Sam's sister) goes, "Um, where's your child?" and I was like....?!?!?!? And I look all the way over there and she has found her toy (BEHIND THE WALL) and started playing with it. I was like, Oh crap, she's WAY too mobile for her own good. It scared me. Well, ever since then Ive tried to keep a much better eye out for her little adventures!
